I created this bottlenose dolphin around the idea of being eco-friendly and recycling.
I also made it ironic with the idea of plastic bags as stuffing because nowadays, there's so much junk and trash in the water (like plastic bags, plastic bottles, and a lot of plastic) that you never know what you're drinking in or eating, so dolphins and fish could definitely be eating or drinking in our trash. Thus, we are eating, drinking, and swimming in our own trash. You never know what's going to be in the water now.
The dolphin is primarily made from recycled materials: plastic bags, aluminum foil, water bottles.
I used an actual water bottle for the nose, taking its name literally as well as recycling the bottle into my art. I also used plastic bags as a type of stuffing and used aluminum foil as to cover the insides like skin. The fins are made of plastic from water bottles. I used wire to add little details and connect and attach all the pieces together. Then, I basically painted the entire dolphin with silver acrylic paint, and PRESTO!
