Description
This pearl blossom pendant is a soutache jewelry. I used soutache braids/trim and pearl beads and a gemstone to create this, sewing it all together with thread and some glue for the ends of the soutache. It took me a while to figure this out.
I created this soutache pendant for a contest to create a piece from a new craft, to try something new. I remembered I bought a lot of supplies and materials and left them lying in a box somewhere to be utilized later. I found the materials to make soutache jewelry and thought that I might as well try this new craft. This is also my first successful and completed necklace.
This was a very difficult craft that involved no tutorials (except for reference pictures), a lot of blood (from stabbing my fingers with the needle), a lot of trial and error (meaning I had to redo and undo stuff), and creating my own design. Somehow, this turned out different from the design I drew, but it still turned out pretty well.
